THE PLAN

is to create new community faith spaces throughout the extended Northern DC area where busy people from all backgrounds can discover solutions to their real-life needs and refocus their lives on what should matter most: renewing their lives, relationships, and faith. Our Rockville/Gaithersburg new church project is currently aiming to have it's officially launch in April of 2024.

Authentic CONNECTIONS Jesus called the church to be a safe and caring community for all people. Our Renewal Church is a MULTIETHNIC COMMUNITY OF FAITH that everyone can belong to and feel at home in our politically polarized environment. It is a place where all people are welcome, valued, accepted, and loved as equals before our Creator God.

COMMUNITY Focused we view ourselves as an integral part of the local community looking to bring hope, serve the needs of our neighbors with compassion, stand up for equality, defend Jesus' philosophy of social justice for all people, stand against any form of oppression, while showing God’s redemptive grace for those whose lives have been destroyed by the evil around us.

CONTEMPORARY Atmosphere the teachings of Jesus were good news about living a fulfilling and joyful life not only in the future kingdom of God to come, but relevant to our current lives and cultural context.

CULTIVATING Faith We are committed to be a catalyst for faith, service, generosity, mission, and multiplication by helping people discover their God given life purpose, renew their hope for the coming eternity, bring a positive change and help every person start a renewed life with their creator God.

We are looking to expand our team of mission-minded people who are passionate to build relationships with the community and help connect people back with their creator God through service and relational discipleship.

As we prepare for our official launch, it is important to grow together as a strong, unified and effective team with a clear vision and purpose. These next steps below will help establish the DNA of this new faith community.

KEYS TO JOIN OUR COMMUNITY OF FAITH

We believe that church is a community that helps connect all people closer to God and each other, everyone who is interested to be a part of a missional movement is welcome.

All are welcome to attend any of our core team gatherings so they can discover what this new church is about. Anyone who is willing to live a missional life committed to God and to serving our North DC community is welcome to join. This commitment has three important areas each member must value:

  1. Commitment to God: Be committed to learn and follow God's guidance for the life of his creation as presented in his "instruction manual to humanity," the Bible, and dedicating one's life to sharing His love with others
  2. Commitment to the Community - being willing to help build unity, oneness and equality among the members and stand for equality and social justice for those outside the church. We want to love, serve and celebrate in life together in a way that will lead people to experience encounters with God's love and encourage them to start a real life-walk with him.
    • Every person will commit to lead or be a part of one of our missional life-groups
    • Everyone will be engaged in living a lifestyle focused on serving others with God's loving attitude
  3. Commitment to a lifestyle of COMPASSION (MISSION) - living a Jesus like life that is inspired by God's spirit and expresses itself in living a lifestyle of service, participating in community impact events within and outside the church meetings.
    Living a lifestyle of compassion involves:
    • Prioritizing their life with God at the center
    • Exercise all their God given gifts to serve him and others
    • Represent God's compassion to everyone they meet
    • Be prepared to share their faith story and the story of God with others
